Seppic Pontrieux commits to marine biodiversity with the association RECIFS GOËLO

Acting responsibly and making progress on environmental aspects are pillars of Seppic's CSR program, CARING. As part of these commitments, many of our employees support actions to preserve biodiversity.

The Pontrieux site has thus provided its support to the RECIFS GOËLO association as part of a project to immerse ecological artificial reefs. In mid-June, this small experimental area located off Plouézec will host three artificial reefs designed to house a high diversity of organisms.

This concrete initiative, which helps preserve the marine ecosystem, contributes to collective awareness of the fragility of the marine and coastal environment. It provides a better understanding of ultra-coastal biodiversity and raises awareness among different audiences of the conditions for its preservation and restoration. Acting like a veritable living laboratory, these artificial reefs will make it possible to study the effect of their colonization according to their design, populations, the appearance of new species, natural and/or artificial connectivity.

All audiences are concerned by the project's activities. First, the local population, site users, and elected officials for the initial phase of communication on artificial reefs. Then the voluntary associations and professionals involved in the reef monitoring protocols.

A project full of promise to follow in the coming years!
