SOLAGUM AX

SOLAGUM™ SF 306

Thickener & emulsifying polymer for industrial applications

SOLAGUMTM SF 306 is a polymer based on HSD (Hydro Swelling Droplets); it inverts and swells when added to water.

SOLAGUMTM SF 306 acts as a thickener & emulsifier and is produced from water-soluble monomers polymerized in a continuous oil phase.

Characteristics

Main properties of SOLAGUMTM SF 306 are:

  • Ready to use polymer in fluid form
  • Compatible at neutral and basic pH
  • No heating neutralizing & maturing phases required
  • Excellent emulsifier even with silicone oil

Taking into account the cost/performance ratio, SOLAGUMTM SF 306 is the best candidate to thicken highly alkaline formulations.

Solvent thickening

SOLAGUMTM SF 306 can be used to develop anhydrous gels with oxygenated polar solvents: alcohols, esters, ethers, glycolether …

SOLAGUMTM SF 306 is compatible with the following solvents: monoethylene glycol, monopropylene glycol, diethylene glycol, glycerol.

Compatibility

1-Compatibility with surfactants

SOLAGUMTM SF 306 is compatible with non-ionic, anionic and amphoteric surfactants. It is not compatible with cationic surfactants.

2-Compatibility with electrolytes

Electrolytes decrease the thickening effect of SOLAGUMTM SF 306. Therefore, they should be added at the end of the process to adjust viscosity as desired. To formulate gels with large quantities of electrolytes the concentration of SOLAGUMTM SF 306 has to be increased. In order to overcome this limitation, SOLAGUMTM SF 306 can be associated with other thickeners such as SOLAGUMTM AX, vinyl polymers...
