SOLAGUM™ SH 210
Thickening & emulsifying polymer for extreme conditions
SOLAGUMTM SH 210 is a polymer based on HSD (Hydro Swelling Droplets); it inverts and swells when added to water.
SOLAGUMTM SH 210 acts as a thickener & emulsifier and is produced from water-soluble monomers polymerized in a continuous oil phase.
Characteristics
Main properties of SOLAGUMTM SH 210 are:
- Ready to use polymer in fluid form
- Compatible at any pH
- No heating neutralizing & maturing phases required
- Excellent emulsifier even with silicone oil
- Effective stabilizer of mineral charges
Solvent thickening
SOLAGUMTM SH 210 can be used to develop anhydrous gels with oxygenated polar solvents: alcohols, esters, ethers, glycolether …
SOLAGUMTM SH 210 is compatible with the following solvents: monoethylene glycol, monopropylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, DMSO, glycerol, methyl lactate.
Compatibility
1-Compatibility with surfactants
SOLAGUMTM SH 210 is compatible with non-ionic, anionic and amphoteric surfactants. It is not compatible with cationic surfactants.
2-Compatibility with electrolytes
Electrolytes decrease the thickening effect of SOLAGUMTM SH 210. Therefore, they should be added at the end of the process to adjust viscosity as desired. To formulate gels with large quantities of electrolytes the concentration of SOLAGUMTM SH 210 has to be increased. In order to overcome this limitation, SOLAGUMTM SH 210 can be associated with other thickeners such as SOLAGUMTM AX, vinyl polymers...
