METOLOSE® SH and SM are cellulose ethers used for their thickening and viscosity-enhancing properties.



TYLOPUR®️ Xtend Nutra products are high-viscosity hypromelloses that allow the formulation of hydrophilic matrices for the extended release of nutritional active ingredients.

METOLOSE® SH and SM

METOLOSE® SH and SM are hypromelloses and ethyl celluloses. Depending on the degree and nature of the cellulose substitution, METOLOSE® SH and SM have different properties:

  • Taste masking
  • Viscosity-enhancing - Thickening
  • Stabilization of emulsions and suspensions

METOLOSE® SH and SM are stable in the presence of electrolytes and across a wide pH range. They are characterised by their viscosity, at a concentration of 2% in aqueous solution, together with the degree of cellulose substitution.

TYLOPUR®️ Xtend Nutra

TYLOPUR®️ Xtend Nutra products are high-viscosity hypromelloses used for the formation of hydrophilic matrices that control the release of nutritional active ingredients in the body.

TYLOPUR®️ Xtend Nutra products have many properties:

  • Gradual and controlled release of the nutritional active ingredient
  • Control of the dissolution profile by:
    • The percentage of HPMC in tablets
    • Selection of the viscosity
    • Tablet size
  • Improved bioavailability of nutritional active ingredients
  • Direct compression
  • Rapid hydration



The type of substitution of TYLOPUR®️ Xtend Nutra products impacts the product's hydration and the strength of the gel formed. The greater the viscosity, the stronger the gel and the slower the dissolution.

Products from the TYLOPUR®️ Xtend Nutra range can be used in direct compression or wet granulation.

All the grades presented here are suitable for dietary supplement applications in Europe.

They also comply with Ph.Eur, JP and USP.
