Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether and mineral oil are amongst the top-tier excipients for topical formulation, one for its solubilizing and penetration enhancement properties and the other as a skin protectant  and carrier for lipophilic APIs. Though both are also well-known as challenging to stabilize.

As a pharmaceutical polymer, SEPINEO™ P 600 exhibits a unique performance of stabilizing both solvent and oil in high concentrations, to help you build the optimal dosage form for solubilizing and delivering your APIs.

With SEPINEO™ P 600 and its polymeric network

Strong thickening power of Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (> 25%)

As an inverse latex polymer SEPINEO™ P 600 has strong thickening capacities of polar solvents, including diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, PEG 400, propylene glycol, ethanol, to help you reach your API solubilization and skin delivery objectives.

Mineral oil stabilization (> 30%)

Through its elastic polymer network SEPINEO™ P 600 can stabilize up to 40% of any kind of oil phase, without additional surfactant addition.

Unique performance amongst pharmaceutical polymers

Similar formula with high content of diethylene glycol monoethyl ether and oil could not be stabilized by benchmark pharmaceutical polymer (carbomer).
