Seppic unveiled in 2023 the action of its nutraceutical active ingredient CERAMOSIDES™ on hair health and beauty. Obtained from wheat lipids, CERAMOSIDESTM stood out on the nutraceutical market as the first phytoceramide-based extract with clinically proven action on hair growth1. Seppic carried out a new clinical study to expand the data on this ingredient and confirm the efficiency of CERAMOSIDESTM on hair. In particular, it demonstrated similar results for the powder and oil grades of the ingredient.
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled confirmatory study was conducted on a panel of 99 women aged between 18 and 65 with hair loss. After only 2 months of supplementation and at low dose (30 mg/d for powder grade and 70 mg/d for oil grade, active compounds equivalent) beneficial effects were observed. In less than 3 months, results confirmed significant effects on key parameters associated with hair health and beauty2:
- an increase in hair length vs. placebo
- an increase in the number of hair in growth phase vs. placebo
- a decrease in hair loss vs. placebo
- an improvement in hair resistance to breakage vs. placebo
After 3 months of supplementation, up to 100% of the participants found that their hair grew faster following CERAMOSIDESTM intake. 97% of the participants reported a reduction in hair loss and an increase in their resistance to breakage.
CERAMOSIDESTM is also suitable for menopausal women, who are particularly prone to hair disorders such as hair loss and need targeted support to reveal their beauty.
CERAMOSIDESTM has a dual action on both hair, demonstrated in two clinical studies, and on skin with anti-aging and moisturizing properties demonstrated in three clinical studies.
CERAMOSIDESTM, thanks to the powder and oil grades as well as its low daily dose, can be formulated in different galenics such as hard capsules, tablets, powder sticks, gummies and shots. This natural active ingredient is guaranteed gluten-free, GMO-free, additive-free and preservative-free. It is kosher certified, and suitable for vegan formulas.
