Seppic enriches the test results of EMOGREEN™ HP40 with hair and skin care benefits.

In 2022, Seppic launched a new inherently biodegradable emollient of plant origin, EMOGREEN™ HP 40 (INCI: C15-19 Alkane, Hydrogenated Polyfarnesene), to meet formulators' demand for alternatives to heavy silicones, particularly for in hair care. Today, thanks to new tests, Seppic is reinforcing the potential of EMOGREEN™ HP40 by demonstrating its benefits on hair shine and color retention. In addition, comparative results to silicones for the skin care market have been demonstrated.

In hair care, EMOGREEN™ HP40, applied undiluted to dry curly hair, demonstrated comparable performance in terms of shine to Phenyl Trimethicone, a reference silicone on this claim. Regarding color preservation, EMOGREEN™ HP40, used in a rinsed mask, helps prevent color fade thanks to its film-forming properties.

When applied on the skin, EMOGREEN™ HP40 provides a perceptible feel and a better adaptation to the skin's relief than silicones, for a great sensation of comfort. In addition, formulated as an emulsion, EMOGREEN™ HP40 demonstrates, unlike silicones, an ease of spreading and absorption of the oil droplets of the emulsion on the skin. As a result, it forms a flexible, even and full-coverage film.

With EMOGREEN™ HP40, Seppic meets one of today's major technical challenges: offering a natural alternative to silicones while providing the same level of performance.
