Hypromellose or Methylcellulose - Thickener / Viscosity-Enhancer
METOLOSE® SH and SM are cellulose ethers used for their thickening and viscosity-enhancing properties.
The METOLOSE® range from SHIN ETSU is compliant with Ph.Eur, JP and USP.
Viscosity-Enhancer and thickener
Depending on the degree and nature of the cellulose substitution, METOLOSE products have different properties:
- Taste masking
- Viscosity-enhancing - Thickening
- Stabilization of emulsions and suspensions
METOLOSE® SM and SH are stable in the presence of electrolytes and across a wide pH range.
Products
METOLOSE® is characterised by its viscosity, at a concentration of 2% in aqueous solution, together with the degree of cellulose substitution.
