SEPPIC - Expertises - Chimie et procédés

Drawing on its formulation knowledge, SEPPIC offers its customers solid expertise in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, vaccine, and industrial markets. SEPPIC anticipates customers’ needs and provides tailored assistance, from design (laboratory experiments) to production (industrial phase).

Formulation for topical products

SEPPIC laboratories are skilled in formulation and galenic formulation for cosmetics and dermopharmaceutical products. Dedicated teams work to determine the application performance of excipients and active agents for skin and hair care products. They work closely with the SEPPIC biology laboratory, which holds in-depth knowledge of molecular interactions and natural biological processes: weight loss, wrinkle formation, skin pigmentation, etc.

SEPPIC also offers formula prototypes in a variety of textures, adapted to various skin types and specific market conditions. Over 15,000 SEPPIC formulation samples are sent annually to cosmetics and dermopharamceutical companies, who can use them when developing new products.

Formulation for oral products

SEPPIC develops pharmaceutical and nutritional coating compositions, providing expertise in tablet coating and formulation to meet customers’ precise product development demands. SEPPIC also develops excipients such as hydrophilic matrices and resins for prolonged-release medicines.

Formulation for injection products

Over the past 10 years, SEPPIC has cultivated an expertise in developing and manufacturing injected excipients. Its Manufacturing Best Practices regulations enable SEPPIC to offer these products in total security to pharmaceutical laboratories aiming to develop medicines administered by injection. SEPPIC lends technical support to its customers for developing and formulating specific injected excipients, such as solubilizers for nearly insoluble active substances or surfactants designed to improve the bioavailability of active agents.

SEPPIC expertise also covers injected vaccine adjuvants, for humans and animals. SEPPIC experts optimize stable, efficient, and physiologically tolerable formulations, which are also tested in its immunology laboratory, located at the Ecole Vétérinaire de Maisons-Alfort (France).

A variety of applications

SEPPIC formulation skills also extend to many other industrial fields: detergents, oil and well drilling, paper, polyurethane formulations, glass frosting, fiber optic cable grease, etc.

In addition, thanks to its expertise in encapsulation and controlled release processes, SEPPIC is involved in joint development programs in a range of fields (nutrition, pharmacy, cosmetics, etc.).
