SEPPIC’s research and innovation strategy is supported by an active patenting policy (patents, brands, and expertise). By protecting our products, how they are used and guaranteeing our customers long-lasting innovations, we can ensure the sustainability of our innovation policy and establish ever more ambitious objectives.
A well-established patent policy, for the benefit of its customers
We draw on our well-established patent policy to formalize and protect our innovations. Through our own resources and the support of Air Liquide's Intellectual Property Department, we offer our customers safe products that enable them to remain a step ahead in their markets.
Striving for continuous creativity
In 20 years of active innovation, SEPPIC has built up a portfolio of over 140 patent families, including 120 in the health and beauty sectors. To date, 60% of these patents are in commercial use. During the last ten years, we have demonstrated our ability to innovate, submitting over 100 patents in France and abroad. In our constant pursuit of new discoveries, we have set two major objectives for ourselves over the years to come:
- Maintain a sustained rate of innovation
- Release four to six new substances and/or compositions onto the market each year (all areas of business combined).
Europe, the United States and Japan have always been target markets for SEPPIC, but the group is now expanding its patent policy to other geographical zones. For example, 19 patent requests are currently submitted in China.
