Analysis

SEPPIC - Expertises - Chimie et procédés

The SEPPIC analysis teams continuously develop and improve advanced analysis methods to control product quality and conformity at all stages of production.

Quality control and analysis at every stage of production

The SEPPIC analysis teams oversee the quality control of products and raw materials at our plants. This monitoring occurs at all stages of production and includes in-progress controls, involving systematic analysis of:

  • Raw materials
  • Intermediary products
  • Finished products

Our analysis teams also

  • Develop new analysis methods for the SEPPIC group, a requirement for bringing products to market
  • Validate procedures and processes for cleaning reactors to control for cross contamination
  • Carry out analysis in response to customer feedback
  • Certify new raw materials selected by our purchasing department

Observing regulations

Sharing their unique expertise, the analysis teams play a pivotal role at SEPPIC, particularly in light of the ever-growing number and complexity of new regulations. These include REACH (the European Union Directive on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) and BPD (the Biocidal Products Directive). These regulations oblige manufacturers to provide increasingly detailed toxicological and eco-toxicological reports. These reports require the determination of product purity, ingredient dosage and the detection of any impurities, even in trace amounts.

A firm grasp of analysis techniques

SEPPIC's analysis teams have a complete understanding of the latest methods of analysis, particularly in the field of chromatography: GPC (gel permeation chromatography), HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography), GC (gas chromatography) and ionic chromatography.

Our expertise also covers the following analytical techniques:

  • Spectrometry, such as atomic absorption, techniques using UV, IRFT and mass spectrometry,
  • Chemical (acid-base dosages, redox, etc.) and physico-chemical analyses (rheology, viscometry, granulometry, etc.),
  • TOC (total organic carbon analysis).
