Our production sites

SEPPIC operates two production sites: one in Europe and one in Asia. Each site respects the strictest standards for quality, traceability and safety as defined by the group’s industrial policy.

Castres industrial site (France)

The SEPPIC site at Castres features research laboratories and a production plant.

Primarily dedicated to the health and beauty sectors, the plant, located on an 8-hectare site, employs 300 people and manufactures 600 different products. It operates in synergy with our synthesis, analysis and applications laboratories located nearby.

The Castres site specializes in the production of:

• Cosmetic excipients,
• Pharmaceutical excipients (human and veterinary markets),
• Industrial surfactants.

Respect for the environment is a priority at SEPPIC. Over 35% of the raw materials used are derived from plants, while the site carefully restricts its environmental footprint by means of:

• A station equipped with four water pre-treatment pools,
• Controlled drainage of rainwater,
• Selective waste sorting,
• 3 gas emissions treatment units.

The Castres site has been awarded certifications in line with the latest standards for quality (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001) and occupational health/safety (OHSAS 18001).

The Castres site complies with the best production practices (Bonnes Pratiques de Fabrication, BPF, part 2) for vaccine adjuvants and injectable surfactants for human use, as approved by the French agency for health and health product safety (l’Agence française de sécurité sanitaire des produits de santé, AFSSAPS). We have also applied to AFSSAPS for approval of the raw materials used in pharmaceutical products at the site.

Qing Pu production site (Shanghai, China)

Our first production site in Asia, the SSCS (SEPPIC Shanghai Chemical Specialities Co. Ltd.) plant opened in 2007 in the Qing Pu industrial zone. It concentrates on the production of pharmaceuticals and veterinary products. The plant covers some 6,700 m2 and employs a team of 17 people.

The Qing Pu site has also been awarded certifications in line with the latest standards for quality (ISO 9001), the environment (ISO 14001) and occupational health/safety (OHSAS 18001). The Chinese authorities have classified the plant as ‘respecting the environment’.
